Hi all!
I've been contemplating making a Batman fan film for some time but it hasn't been till only recently that I've worked up the determination to actually go through with it.
How do most of you do your costumes for batman? Are they custom made for you, or by you, or did you purchase them? There sure are a lot out there.
This is the only feasible one I can find:
It can be found at buysuperherocostumes . com
Kind of expensive. What do you think about it?
Can anyone give me any tips on what to do in the way of getting one/making one. Mind you, I have no experience whatsoever in sewing.
Thanks in advance! |

Go custom. Don't do what most do.
It's your choice...but go custom.

Great Advice here.
Always go custom. I have a full black and gray costume, and I am working on a 66 version as well. And I have found that you will probably pay the most for the cowl, cape & boots.
If you are looking for a custom made cowl, here is a website to check out:
http://reevz666.com/
Also another great website for all of your Batman Costuming is brotherhood of the bat:

Look around on ebay, or go with what you feel Batman is to you. And if it means buying some gray or black underarmour and a pair of cool looking black or blue boot that you could get at an REI or Army Surplus store then go for it. Be creative.... |

You'll find it's exceptionally easy to put some of the parts together with store-bought materials. _________________ "You have taken my companions and my loved ones from me; The darkness is my closest friend."

good Point, I bought a pair of Bat Gauntlets from Xtreme Design for $$$ Big Bucks, and when I got them I really didn't like them all that much, I sold them on ebay and pretty much got my money's worth back. I eventually settled on a pair of black leather Batman begins gloves that I picked up for $10.00 bucks...
Another good place to check out would be your local fabric store, AC Moore, Joanne Fabric, etc... Look around for cape patterns and material there. And ask anybody there, they are always helpful and willing to assist me when I visit stores like that. |

As was posted above, Brotherhood of the Bat is the best place to start.
The suit that I'm wearing in my avatar is pieced together from parts I got through that site and also stuff I found/made. The reevz666 is amazing and he made the cowl I'm wearing. Really just go with what you want but know this: the stuff that is distributed by WB is usually crap. The fan-made stuff is top notch. _________________
