Hey, I am looking into getting better software to edit my film work. Thing is, I am getting conflicting advice on whether or not to use SONY Vegas or Adobe Premiere. I would like your feedback on this.
And as much as I admire Apple Final Cut, I do not own a Mac, but a PC. |

no one own anyone, everyone of these software are just tools, if you are good at one of them, you can do whatever you want with it. Vegas been very prominent and easy to use. I've used them all including Avid, and I just think it's more the person who uses it and know how to use it than the machine or software. _________________ T.R.A.C.E. A Doctor Who Fan Film Webisode

Deception was edited on Final Cut Express HD version 3.0 with an emac. 1.25 ghz, 1 gb of ram.
Goodpasture the mockumentary was edited if I remember correctly adobe premiere 6.5
Bio's fan film "Punisher: Sins of the Fathers" is going to be edited from what I hear on a Mac pro quad core with final cut pro.
Here is the Trailer to his film:

Working with Premiere is amazing, I have CS4, and Premiere Pro is just absolutely fantastic. You wouldn't go wrong with Premiere. It easy to learn and versitle in all of your indy film needs. _________________ Atomic Horizons Unite! |

i would go with premiere. From what i hear is easier to learn than a program like avid. I personally never really got on with Vegas myself but thats just me.
I use Final Cut Studio 2 anyway _________________ |

Avid or Final Cut. Avid has a very hard learning curve though. |

I have used many editing system applications over the years and my two personal favorites are Final Cut Pro HD and Adobe Premiere. I guess it really depends on what you're looking for in an editing application.

I've Personally been through loads of different programs and I always end up returning to Sony Vegas, It has no faults and I think it is amazing, also you should think about getting Sony DVD Architect (Thanks Bio, you recommended it years ago to me) It is pretty darn good and if I remember rightly you can save your vegas project and open it in DVD Architect and do all sorts of cool menu stuff.
