I guess I'm like the only person that these trailers aren't really getting excited. I mean, yeah it looks good, but it looks boring compared to TDK and BB trailers. _________________ "None of this is really happening... There is a man... With a typewriter..."

im there with you, i feel so bored during the trailers
OK...so what is everyone's thoughts on Robin being in this film???
I have seen so many people saying JGL is Robin...seriously...do any of you think Nolan would keep something like that from the audience?
Has he ever thrown in a character without telling the audience? I remember what he did with Ras in the first one, but rumor has it Wantanbe was always Ras and when he died Ducard (Liam) took over...that again is rumor, but still. Nolan never hid the fact that Ras or anyone else was in the film.

Robin?!? Nolan and Bale agreed that Robin isn't going to be in Nolan's Batman films.
There are rumors that JGL (John Blake) is going be Azrael (Under a code name) that was rumored to be in some Toy Merchandise for the film or going to be the next Batman by the end of the film.
I understand and agree about what Nolan and Bale said...but there's been so much guessing and even as far as a city official go on record to say "The Dark Knight Rises" production was in their city scouting a location for Batman's sidekick Robin...so I was like...hmmm...really?
Then someone said JGL is a police officer, so he's not Robin, but Nightwing...ok really?
I agree with Chayden, he's most likely a "sidekick" of sorts.

I don't think of JGL's character in the film as a sidekick, but more as one of Batman's allies. Batman already has a partnership with Commissioner Gordon and is teaming up with Catwoman in this film (See TV Spot below).
Also, the citizens of Gotham (counting the Police and others) join together to fight against Bane and take back the city. In which stands as Batman is more than a one man war on crime, he's is a symbol to his city, and stood-up against the city's problems when others didn't.
my guess is JGL is Robin aka Dick Grayson BUT he uses the name in the movie after Bruce finds him and he gets him to be in the Police force. he does this to keep the cops off his back and stay 1 step ahead of them.

I'm guessing more of John Blake (JGL) as some kind of Beat Cop in Gordon's unit. The kind of Officer that can be trusted. After Batman gone M.I.A. and Bane's takeover of Gotham, Blake and others Police Officers (maybe?) still continue to be in active duty and will cover for Batman.
Like drawing small Bat symbols with chalk on walls. Pretending and fooling Gotham that Batman never went missing, Blake still has hope that he'll be back.
But later for a few years, Blake has his disbelief. Batman maybe won't return. This is from the trailers for this film...
