About the film:

"The Fall of Bruce Wayne" is a low budget black & white fan film detailing what pushed Bruce Wayne over the edge to make him become Batman. The film is being made in England, predominately in Leicester and Bedford by a tight knit group of actors/actresses who have worked on several low budget films previous to this film.

The film began life back in the Winter of 2003, as a simple script idea, pre-production of rewrites, costumes, props and casting meant that the filming did not get started until Summer 2004. The film is currently still filming as well as putting together trailers and other promotional material and we hope the film will be completely finished for Fall 2005. Due to the length it is uncertain how the film will be released at this moment.

A word from the director:

When this film began it was meant to be a short stop gap. Something fun that I could do inbetween serious projects. Well, it seems now that those serious projects have fallen by the wayside because this project has become my life for the past year and half. I can't deny that it's a blast doing it but I'm gonna have such a break when this things over. Anyway about the film...

When I began the script for "The Fall of Bruce Wayne", I knew I wanted something different. Most fan films I'd seen prior to writing always seemed to be copying Hollywood styles and templates. For instance, Star Wars fan films, always seem to try and replicate George Lucas' directing style. I felt it was a shame that there weren't more fan films that tried to do something different from Hollywood. I mean most of us were working of low to no budget, why not try and make and indie film; something that didn't always go for the action, but centred on a decent story.

So I guess you can say that this film is being made to deliberately rub some fans up the wrong way. I'll warn you now that Batman doesn't turn up in the film until a good 15 minutes before the end. And the portrayal of Bruce is not like the comics, he is shown as a normal human being, with genuine feelings; love, hate, loneiness, apathy. He is weak, flawed and, at times, very unstable.

Anyway, I hope the film will be something new and original without betraying Batman/Bruce's comic book roots. And I look forward to presenting the finished product to you in the Fall.

See you then,
